My mission statement in ministry: As a minister I am called to serve and build communities of transformation that uphold the worth and dignity of each person, and work to end systematic oppression in the world.
Currently I am finishing up my time serving as the ministerial intern to a wonderful vibrant congregation, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Reading Massachusetts. I am so lucky to worship and learn beside these fine folks who are always teaching me lessons about life, love and ministry. After successfully meeting with the UUA’s Ministerial Fellowshipping Committee this fall and being cleared for search, the UU Church in Reading had voted to ordain me into ministry. An Ordination was set and planned for April 26th 2020. As we all know, things changed when Covid-19 hit, and my Ordination was postponed. This will likely mean that I won’t have had my ordination ceremony before I get to Alabama. I won’t officially be the Rev. Jaimie Dingus yet, though I meet all the qualifications to serve you and be your minister. As disappointing as it has been to cancel my Ordination, now I’m looking forward to planning a combination Ordination and Installation with you all to celebrate the beginning of our ministry together. We are all losing a lot in this time, and so it is a gift to have so much to look forward to as your new candidate for ministry.
