Organizing Your Pages
When your setting up your menus it will be helpful to organize your pages into parent pages and subpages. For example “Ministry”, “Leadership” and “About Me” and “Contact” are parent pages and the URL for the “Ministry” parent page would be https://www.uuministry.com/emerson/ministry/
When a person viewing your website hovers over Ministry they will unveil the subpages and the URL for “Sermons and Services” would be :
- In the right menu, click the “Page Parent” drop-down menu. The drop-down menu contains a list of all the Pages already created for your site.
- Select the appropriate parent Page from the drop-down menu to make the current Page a child Page.
- Add content to the subpage.
- Click Publish when ready.
Changing the URL of Your Pages
To change the URL part (also referred to as “slug”) containing the name of your Page, use the “Edit” (or “Change Permalinks” in older WordPress versions) button under the Page title on the Edit screen of the particular Page, accessible from Pages tab of WordPress Administration Screen.
Add the New Page to Your Menu
After adding a page to your website you will need to be sure to add the page to the appropriate menu.
